Explore the concept of universals and particulars. How do philosophical positions like realism, nominalism, and conceptualism address the nature of universals and their relationship to particulars? Provide real-life examples to illustrate these philosophical concepts.
Prompt 2: Personal Identity and Persistence One of the intriguing topics in metaphysics is the nature of personal identity and the persistence of objects over time. Discuss the problem of personal identity and its connection to the mind-body problem. Consider various theories, such as psychological continuity, physical continuity, and the bundle theory of self.
