Module 1 Discussion Forum B: Definition of Dance
Module 1 Discussion Forum: Definition of Dance
In a post below, respond to the following prompts, which assess course outcome 3.
Your first post is due _________. Your second post is due ___________.
- Click on the Icon for the Module's forum. That gets you in to the assignment.
- Click on the instructor's post labeled "My Definition of Dance". That will take you to the prompt.
- Click on the REPLY option at the bottom. That will take you to the spot where you can reply to the instructor's prompt. Type your response directly into Moodle.
- Wait one hour. You will not be able to see your classmates' posts until one hour after you have responded to your instructor's original prompt.
- Read your fellow students' responses and choose one to react to in the same way you answered the original prompt.
Responses should be in paragraph form as opposed to bullet points. Your response should be at least three sentences long. This includes responses to other students' posts. A simple “I agree” or “Yes” or “LOL” will not count. Please think about the questions and your peers' responses and reply thoughtfully and courteously, according to netiquette rules. Use good English grammar, correct punctuation, and complete sentences. While the posts will mostly be judged by their thoughtfulness and completeness, I reserve the right to take off points for grammatical errors, especially if they interfere with the clarity of the post.
Prompt 1
What is your definition of dance? Explain your response. How does your definition differ from those in the textbook?
Describe the "favorite video" you uploaded in the "Getting to Know You" module. Use vocabulary and concepts learned from the textbook Appreciating Dance: A Guide to the World's Liveliest Art and from the Module 1 online book.. In what way is the video representative of your dance aesthetic? What influences helped to shape your aesthetic?
Prompt 2 - respond to another student's post:.
Do you agree or disagree with the definition provided by a fellow student? Why?
Your posts will be graded in accordance with this rubric. Your initial response accounts for up to two points and the follow up response counts for another two points.
