This Midterm Exam supports the following Course Goals and Course Learning Outcomes:

Goal 1: To give you a reasonable knowledge of the basic concepts of chemistry

Goal 2: To introduce you to systematic problem-solving techniques.

Goal 3: To prepare you to use chemistry in your own life and profession by providing interesting and relevant applications that are clearly understandable from physical principles.

(CLO1) Demonstrate a fundamental knowledge of chemistry concepts in the areas of measurement, chemical and physical properties of matter, atomic and molecular structure, chemical equations and stoichiometry, reactions, energy relationships, periodicity, bonding, gas laws, and solutions: aligns with (Goal 1) (Goal 2) (Goal 3)

(CLO2) Analyze and solve fundamental quantitative chemistry problems: aligns with (Goal 1) (Goal 2)

(CLO3) Apply chemical principles to understanding natural phenomena, emerging chemistry-related technology, and materials encountered in everyday life: aligns with (Goal 1) (Goal 3)


INSTRUCTIONS:

You can any printed resources that you choose including textbooks and formula sheets. You can use a calculator. You are not allowed to use a phone, tablet, or any URLs.

No make-ups will be given, and late exams will not be accepted without proper documentation as discussed in the syllabus.

The Midterm Exam is worth 100 points. Point values are indicated with each question.
